Thirteen oils

Oud wood and incense, lit from inside by raspberry.

The house signature. Dark oud and slow-burning incense make the room; a bright thread of raspberry keeps it alive on the skin. Resinous benzoin settles underneath and stays for hours.

Sweet amber, oud and rose, weighed out in balance.

Named for what it does. Nothing leads: amber, vanilla, oud and rose sit level with each other, warm and slightly spiced. The easiest of the dark oils to wear every day.

Saffron and ambergris, jasmine moving underneath.

Saffron up front, the way the attar tradition likes it, then jasmine where you expect sweetness and a long mineral base of amberwood and cedar. Evening-weight.

Saffron to sandalwood. The classic attar arc, complete.

The full traditional arc in one bottle: bright saffron and bergamot, a spiced rose heart, and the sandalwood-agarwood base that the whole genre is built on.

Amber and vanilla. Plainly, quietly beautiful.

Two notes, properly done. A skin-scent amber warmed with vanilla. The one to reach for when everything else feels like too much of a statement.

Amber with smoke in it. Resin, not syrup.

Amber as the old perfumers meant it: dark resin with woodsmoke through it, balsamic rather than sweet. Reads like a leather chair in a warm room.

Rose and oud the Emirati way. Spiced, herbal, earthed.

A tribute to the Gulf's own pairing. Rose and oud in the centre, but opened with fresh spice and herbs so it moves. Closer to a majlis doorway than a museum case.

White flowers and caramel, held down by musk.

A gourmand floral with manners. White petals over caramel could turn loud; a powdery musk base keeps it close and grown-up. The one people come back for.

Patchouli and black pepper, polished with rose.

The angular one. Pepper and cardamom bite first, rose smooths the middle, and patchouli gives it a dry, earthy finish that reads more tailored than sweet.

Rose with almond and a snap of pink pepper.

A rose oil that doesn't behave like rosewater. Pink pepper and bergamot keep the opening quick; almond underneath makes the drydown soft instead of soapy.

Damask rose, cloves, oud. Velvet dark.

The darkest of the roses. Damask rose set with clove and grounded in oud. The texture the name promises, worn close after dark.

Sicilian orange over Madagascar vanilla. Sunlight, slowed down.

Citrus the Mediterranean way: orange and bergamot pressed close, softened with fruit, and set on a warm base of vanilla and amber so the brightness lasts past the first hour.

Grapefruit and lavender over quiet sandalwood.

The freshest oil in the range: bitter grapefruit, an aromatic lavender-and-spice heart, sandalwood keeping it from floating away. Daylight hours.
